Around is built to keep your food log personal. This policy explains the information the app handles, why it handles it, and the choices you have.

The short version

Around does not require an account. Your meal entries, nutrition goals, and attached photos are stored locally on your device. We do not sell personal information, serve advertising, or use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Information stored on your device

Around stores the information you choose to log, including food and meal names, nutrition values, custom meal sections, dates and times, water amounts, goals, and any photos you attach to meals. This information stays in the app's local database on your device unless you choose to sync specific health information with Apple Health.

Camera and photo library

If you choose to scan a barcode, Around uses the camera only to scan that barcode. If you choose to attach a meal photo, Around accesses only the photo you select from your library. Around does not upload your camera feed or selected photos to our servers.

Apple Health

Apple Health integration is optional. If you enable it, Around may read nutrition, food, body-weight, and active-energy data that you authorize through Apple Health, and may write the nutrition and body-weight information you log. This processing happens on your device. Around does not send Apple Health data to the developer or to advertising networks. You can change Health permissions at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.

Food search and barcode lookup

When you search for a food or look up a barcode, Around sends your search text or barcode to Open Food Facts to retrieve matching product and nutrition information. Open Food Facts receives that request under its own privacy practices. Your meal history, goals, photos, and Apple Health data are not included in those requests.

Website

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If you email support, your email provider and ours will process your message and address so we can reply.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Because Around has no user accounts and does not keep your food log on developer-operated servers, there is no developer-held account or cloud profile to delete. You can delete individual entries in the app or delete the app and its local data from your device. Health samples previously written by Around are managed in Apple Health and can be removed there. You may revoke camera, photo-library, and Health access at any time in iOS Settings.

Children

Around is not directed to children under the age at which consent is required in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
